Thinking about getting Botox? Whether you’re new to the treatment or a returning client, understanding what to expect before and after your appointment can help you feel more confident and comfortable with the process. At Next Door Urgent Care in South Euclid, we make sure every Botox experience is smooth, safe, and satisfying.

What to Expect Before and After Your Botox Appointment

Before Your Botox Appointment

1. Consultation First

Before any injections, you'll meet with one of our medical professionals to discuss your goals. We’ll go over:

  • Your medical history

  • Areas of concern (frown lines, crow’s feet, forehead wrinkles, etc.)

  • What results you’re looking for

  • Any questions you may have

2. Minimal Prep Needed

Preparing for Botox is easy, but here are a few quick tips:

  • Avoid alcohol for 24 hours prior (to reduce bruising).

  • Stop blood-thinning medications like aspirin or ibuprofen a few days before (check with your doctor first).

  • Avoid harsh skincare treatments (like chemical peels) leading up to your appointment.

3. The Day Of

You can wear makeup, but the treated areas will be cleaned before the injection. The procedure itself is quick—typically 10 to 20 minutes—with minimal discomfort. Most patients describe it as a small pinch.

After Your Botox Appointment

1. No Downtime, But a Few Rules

You can go about your day right after your appointment, but follow these simple guidelines for the next 24–48 hours:

  • Avoid rubbing or touching the treated area

  • Don’t lie down for 4 hours after

  • Skip intense workouts, saunas, or hot tubs for a day

  • No facials or massage for at least 48 hours

2. When Will You See Results?

You’ll start noticing results within 3 to 5 days, with full effects visible at 7 to 14 days. Wrinkles will appear smoother and more relaxed—but still natural-looking.

3. How Long Does Botox Last?

Botox typically lasts 3 to 4 months. With consistent treatments, you may notice longer-lasting results as your muscles adapt.

Is Botox Right for You?

Botox is FDA-approved and widely used for both cosmetic and medical purposes. It's perfect for treating:

  • Forehead lines

  • Frown lines between the eyebrows

  • Crow’s feet

  • Neck bands and more

If you’re looking for a refreshed, youthful appearance without surgery or downtime, Botox might be a great fit.
