Your Consultation & Prescription Process
Your TRT journey at NextDoor Urgent Care is designed to be thorough and personalized.
Here's what you can expect:
Initial Consultation
Consultation can include in person or over the phone discussion of symptoms and process. This is most efficient by completing an intake form so we can review your case before meeting, including any lab work you may already have. Next we will schedule a time to perform a physical exam.
Labs
We perform an extensive lab workup to ensure Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT) is right for you. This includes:
-
CMP
-
CBC
-
TSH
-
Lipid Panel
-
PSA
-
LH
-
SHBG
-
Estradiol
-
Testosterone: Free, Direct with total
These tests rule out other causes of your symptoms and check for metabolic disturbances. The cost is $140 through our facility, with no extra fees, or you can opt to have the labs done through your primary care provider or a main lab office, which may be more affordable with insurance. We will send a script!
Therapy & Monitoring
Once your lab results are in and indicate low T, we will begin your Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT) and closely monitor your testosterone levels. We start with a check 6 weeks after beginning therapy, followed by regular evaluations every 3 months to ensure optimal results and adjust as needed.

We will adjust your dosage as needed to optimize your Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT) and ensure the best possible results and low/no side effects.
If TRT isn't the right fit for you, we offer alternative treatment options.

Why Should You Consider Getting Tested for Low Testosterone?
Low testosterone, or "low T," is more common than many men realize, especially as they age. Testosterone is a crucial hormone that impacts everything from your energy levels and mood to your muscle mass and sexual health. When testosterone levels drop, it can significantly affect your quality of life.
Signs and Symptoms of Low Testosterone
Men with low testosterone may experience a wide range of symptoms, including:
-
Fatigue and Low Energy: Persistent tiredness, even after a good night's sleep, can be a sign of low T.
-
Reduced Muscle Mass and Strength: Testosterone plays a key role in building and maintaining muscle, so low levels can lead to decreased muscle mass and strength.
-
Weight Gain: Particularly around the midsection, low testosterone can contribute to increased body fat.
-
Decreased Libido and Sexual Performance: A reduced sex drive or erectile dysfunction can be linked to low testosterone levels.
-
Mood Changes: Feelings of depression, irritability, or difficulty concentrating are common with low T.
-
Sleep Disturbances: Trouble falling or staying asleep may be associated with low testosterone.
-
Hair Loss: Testosterone is involved in hair production, and low levels can lead to thinning hair or baldness.
-
Additionally, low T is a risk factor for cardiovascular disease.
If you’re experiencing any of these symptoms, it might be time to consider getting tested. Identifying low testosterone early allows for timely intervention, helping you avoid the long-term impacts on your health and well-being.
